When the shape is still open
Use Arena for a homepage direction, an architecture, or another substantial artifact with several plausible approaches. A routine change rarely needs competing candidates.
Choose, then synthesize
Candidate workers explore in parallel. After they finish, a fresh judge compares their work against the rubric. The manager reads every candidate, chooses a base, and adapts useful ideas from the others.
What you keep
One synthesized artifact and a short note naming the base, grafts, rejected ideas, any missing candidates, and the verification result. Scratch candidates stay separate.
What it needs
Available candidate workers, isolated output paths, and a fresh judge. Review starts after candidate writing stops. The combined result still needs verification; agreement is not a pass.
The example, without playback
Three candidates answer the same homepage brief. B becomes the base for its hierarchy and mobile layout. A contributes the opening explanation; C contributes a compact preview. The result is checked against the original rubric before it is accepted.
